Bayfield

We took our traditional (4th year now) trip to Bayfield for our anniversary in August. We took Reily along and had a great time. It was nice to get away for a night. Unfortunately, we (I) forgot the picture card for the camera...yes, I did remember the camera. We bought a throw away camera, didn't even know they still made those, and FINALLY got the pictures on our computer to share. Enjoy...
The lovely Lake Superior.

The coloring on this one is strange, but it's a good picture.
Burr...when we did this to Gavin, he screamed. Reily just splashed. They are so different.
Creepy troll--no, not Reily!

At the Cabin

There really isn't that much to do at the cabin. Fortunately, Gavin uses his creativity to keep himself busy. If only I knew what he was thinking.

Another Comparison

This one is kind of weird...with the hat on, they look much more alike, in my opinion!
Reily at 10 months.
Gavin at 10 months.

Of course, the one big difference is the smile on Reily's face and the lack of one on Gavin's. Very typical!

Bath Time

It's so much easier to put them in together now that Reily is sitting on his own. In this picture, they really look like they are just about the same size. In reality, Gavin is only 4 inches taller and 5 pounds heavier than Reily. We already had someone comment on our "twins".

In Honor of Molly

It was cousin Molly's birthday on the 14th. In honor of her, we had the boys wear their Irish gear that she's given them (her parents may have had something to do with the picking out, purchasing, and transporting of this gear across the ocean). Happy Birthday, Molly!

He's a Big Boy

Reily has finally started moving. Now that he's started, he won't stop. He is no longer the laziest baby in the world! The baby gates are coming back out, I guess.
He's pulling himself up on everything.

Today, he even started walking along the couch.
Reily is also crawling normally now--no more of the goofy army crawl for him. Now, if I could just get him to put a Cheerio in his mouth...

State Park

Since we don't like staying home much on the weekends, we decided to go on a little adventure at a state park not too far from here. We strapped both boys on and went for a hike. It was fun and a lot of work.

Chris got a little adventurous and decided to climb. It doesn't look like he's real high in the picture, but it was enough to make me a little nervous.

Grandpa Rick's Birthday

We went to the Cities to visit Chris' family. It was his dad's birthday the day we arrived, so we got to be a part of the celebration.
Grandpa and Reily
Kacey kissing or biting Reily--we're really not sure which!

State Fair

While we were in the Cities, we visited the State Fair. It was a nice day and we had lots of great food.
Nap time for Gavin and smile time for Reily--of course, it's always smile time for Reily.

Children's Museum

We also went to the Children's Museum. The special exhibit is Curious George--we HAD to go see that!
Driving the bus
Kacey & Reily had the most fun with their bottle pieces.
Yes, Georgie does have an eye
Reily was mesmerized by this spinning wheel of Georges for quite a while

Playtime

Now that Reily can get anywhere he wants by himself, he is constantly playing with all the toys. I think Gavin is guarding them--he normally doesn't sit in front of them like this.

Sound Asleep

At least he found a cool (meaning not warm) place to sleep!

The Cabin

We've all been having fun hanging out at the cabin this summer.Uh-oh, as Gavin would say.
They actually sat like this for 10 minutes before Gavin tried to push Reily off.

I guess we stayed out around the fire past Reily's bedtime.

Illinois Trip

We went to Illinois to visit some of my biological family. My cousin, Shauna, had a birthday party for her little boy, Zack, while we were there. He turned one and we were finally able to get our kids together!

Gavin and Shauna's cat. He loved the mew-mews (as he calls them).
There was a lot of whining over this toy--every one wanted it. Maybe there will be one under our Christmas tree this year for Gavin and Reily to fight over!

Family

This is my grandmother--my biological father's mom. Gavin had a great time playing at their house.
My great-grandmother.
My aunt Kayla and Reily.
My grandfather, grandmother and aunt Gerri.

We all had a nice visit and look forward to the next time we can meet.

The Dells

We spent one night in the Dells on our way to Illinois. Gavin really enjoyed the little water park at our hotel. This little slide was his favorite. It took quite a while to get to the bottom, but that didn't stop him.
Going up.
Going down.
Fun with mommy.

Bigger Slide

Gavin also enjoyed this bigger slide, but needed a little help with it.
