The Ride Home

If only all car trips were like this!

The Zoo

Before heading home, we decided to visit the zoo.
This goat had Reily's entire hand in his mouth for a second. Reily did not enjoy that.
Gavin just loved chasing around the "goggies" (aka Goats, not doggies). We gave his hands a good scrub before heading home.
Cute little chicken.
Poor Goat!
He's all better now.

Pickle

Reily had his first pickle. He loved it and sucked out all the seeds.

Gavin

Just as cute as ever.

What is he drinking?

Don't worry, grandma, it's just a root beer.

Pool Fun

Reily loved the water, which was actually warmer than the air.
Kacey loved the water, too. It took Gavin a little while to start enjoying it, but then...
He just loved jumping it. The mark on my face? I took a baseball bat to the head this weekend. Chris' little brother swung and I was too close, apparently!

Grandpa Rick

Kacey

This past weekend we visited Chris' dad and got to see Chris' two sisters Katie and Kelly and Kelly's little girl, Kacey, who was born on the same day as Reily. It was fun getting the kids together.

The Sippy

I let Reily try a sippy cup and he did a great job. He just hated the apple juice that was inside. He has the strangest taste buds.

Mommy's Boys

It's not hard to find a moment to cuddle with Reily at all. Gavin, on the other hand, had to be running a fever to get the picture of him cuddling with me! I'll take it when I can get it.

Peaceful Baby

Reily was enjoying a snuggly nap in my arms and wrapped up in my old baby blanket.

He is so peaceful when he's sleeping.

Father's Day

We had my dad over for Father's Day since my mom and brother were out of town. The wheel barrel was his gift--his original, and by original, I mean original (he had that thing for at least 30 years)--fell apart earlier this year. With all the yard work he does, he needed a new one. Gavin just had to get a little ride in it before we presented it to his Papa.

Chris absolutely forbid me from putting this picture on the website! Oh well. I think he looks great. Oh, if you didn't know, he's decided to go back to school for nursing. This was just my way of letting him know that I'm proud of him.

Gavin's Actual Birthday

Gavin's first Happy Meal.

We were going to go to the pool on Gavin's birthday, but it rained. We ended up going to McDonald's--for the first time ever--and Gavin enjoyed the playland once he figured it all out.

The Cake

Gavin had a good time trying to blow out the candles. We caught him just before he spit all over the cake.
Gavin is not a big fan of getting messy. He wouldn't eat much cake, but tried a few bits as long as HE could use his fork. If I touch the fork, eating time is over. He is so my child!

The Presents

He was pretty excited when he found all his gifts.
Here Gavin is opening a package of underwear...fun.
Thanks, Grandpa Rick.

This was Papa's (Gavin's name for my dad) gift for Gavin. It is for kids 3+, but my dad taught Gavin how to do it. Of course, he learned so quickly because he's a genious!

Gavin's Birthday Party

It was a Curious George themed party, of course!
Gavin got to open a present early. It came in the mail from his great grandpa and great grandma Meehan.
Balloons are a new favorite around here.

A Gaving inspired meal...pizza (aka pi-pi) and watermelon.
We had to celebrate a day early to accomodate other people's schedules. Gavin did not know the difference.

Beach

We went to a beach last weekend. Reily actually had the most fun. He loved to splash in the water. Gavin wasn't quite sure he liked being in the water, but he did love digging in the sand. I just enjoyed being out in the sunshine with my whole family.

Gavin's Idea

Gavin thought that climbing on my back was a great idea. And we wonder why I can't ever finish a book anymore.

My Birthday

I had a great day!

We got to play in our little pool. Gavin was, apparently, fishing for Reily. He never did catch him.

Naptime

Reily just wouldn't nap the other day, so I got to hold him until he would. My reward was getting to cuddle with my little guy. I loved it.
