Close-up

I don't really think this looks much like Reily, but I took the picture, so I know it's him!

Family Photo

We tried to get a nice family photo, but Gavin was tired and a bit cranky--he wouldn't give up his paci for anything. Oh well, we'll try again! We won't try again by a Christmas tree, though, he appeared to be rather scared of it. Who knows?!?

Dedication

We had my dad dedicate Reily at his church. My best friend since childhood, McKenya, originally asked my dad to dedicate her son and I thought it would fun to do it together. It was really neat to share that moment.

Gramps

My parents came to our house for Thanksgiving. It was a great day with lots of great food and no one made me lift a finger (my favorite part of the day). Of course, both Reily and Gavin loved having their Gramps here. Reily got to take a nap with him and Gavin actually sat still--something he almost never does--on the couch next to Gramps, watching football (I think).

Thanksgiving

I like the dark meat and since there weren't many people eating with us, I got a leg. My mom thought it would make a great picture...I disagree!

Mowing

Gavin got this lawn mower for his birthday. The weather has been so nice lately that we thought we'd all hang out outside for a while. He loved mowing the driveway.

The "Grandmas"

My mom is on the left. My Auntie is on the right. I love having both of them in my life and in my boys' lives.

Uncle Dean

Uncle Dean was able to meet Reily. Of course, Gavin needed some attention, too. It seems that he needs more and more of that lately.

Uncle Ben

It's Ben's 23rd birthday today. We ended up at my parents house and were able to celebrate with him. Happy Birthday, Ben!

Faces

The very sweet and very sad faces of my precious Reily. We were trying to capture a smile, he didn't cooperate.

Holes

Gavin has discovered that he has holes all over his face. Unfortunately, he likes to drag his finger from one to the next...ew! So far, he hasn't pulled anything out of the nose holes, he just likes to fit his finger up there--way up there.

Pockets

Gavin's also discovered that he has pockets. He also really likes to poke his belly button--and everyone else's belly buttons. We won't post pictures of that, though.

1 Week

Reily is one week old today. Yea!!!

Grandma Roz

Chris' mom, Roz, came to meet Reily on Sunday. Her fiance, Marv, also came along.

Home At Last

Reily did well his first night home. By that, I mean that we all got some sleep--not a lot, but some.

Going Home

We finally got out of the hospital on Thursday morning--not a moment too soon! Of course, we had a two hour journey home, but we all handled it well and are glad to finally be home in our own beds.

Going Home Outfit???

We went shopping before Reily was born and his daddy picked out this outfit for him to come home from the hospital in. Unfortunately, we didn't imagine we'd have such a skinny baby again. I only left it on long enough for the picture. I didn't think he'd enjoy drowing in it all the way home.

My Two Boys

I love them!

Sleepy Daddy

Chris stayed in the hospital with me for the first couple of nights. We were both very tired for the first couple of days since we didn't get any sleep at all on Saturday night.

Doctor Gavin

He spent a little too much time in the hospital.

First Bath

Reily didn't like his first bath nearly as much as Gavin did. After a while he did calm down, though.
Georgie--my bucket was free! You can see why...it's not nearly as enjoyable, apparently.

Be Gentle

We are constantly telling Gavin to "Be Gentle". He's getting tired of hearing it.

Auntie

My Auntie (Leata) came to visit, as well. Gavin can tell the diference between Auntie and Grandma, but I don't think that Reily can, yet.

Great Grandparents

Reily (and I) had quite a few visitors in the hospital. My grandma and grandpa Olson came to visit, as did my grandpa Anderson.

Pretzels

Gavin attempted to share his pretzels with Reily. I think we're going to have to watch them very closely. Oh well, at least he was trying to share.

Roth Visits

Roth lives close to Marshfield now, so his new foster mom brought him to the hospital to see Reily and I. It was really nice to see him again--he is doing extremely well, by the way.

Happy Family

Well, almost all of us are happy. Gavin's shirt says, "I'm the big brother". Reily's bib says, "I love my big brother".

Gramps!

Of course, we couldn't keep Gramps away. As you can see, he isn't picking any favorites. He loves both of his grandbabies just the same and he thinks they're the most beautiful and perfect beings he's ever seen. Of course, he is right!

The Big Brother

Gavin was introduced to Reily by Grandma--so far, so good. He's not too sure about him, but he's been gentle with him.

Proud Uncle

Ben came to visit often while I was in the hospital. I enjoyed the company. He says he's just going to go ahead and pick Gavin as his favorite nephew now, so there's not fighting about it in the future. I think he's sold on Reily, too, though!

A Happy Mommy and Daddy

This was just about an hour after Reily was born. It was so nice to have Reily right away. It was at least two days before we even held Gavin for the first time.

He's a Screamer

These are two of the first "clean" pictures we have of Reily. He's definitely a screamer--unlike his big brother. So far, he's been pretty quiet at home, though.

Daddy-to-be

Chris watched the whole thing again. We took a few pictures this time, but I'll spare you those details.

One, and Only One

I only have the energy to post one today, but I promise that I will get more on tomorrow. We are home, we are doing well, and we are going to bed!

Reily is Here

Well, he is a little early, but doing very well. I started to have contractions at 11:30 last night and came into the hospital. They didn't slow down or stop, so they wheeled me into the OR. Reily was born screaming at 3:18 am. He is 6 lb 7 oz and 19.5 in long. He is doing fantastic, even at 4.5 weeks early and is in my room with Chris and I.
We will likely be here until Thursday morning.
Thank you all for your prayers. We are both doing great!
Chris is doing well, too. Gavin is not so sure about his new little brother, however. Pictures will follow once we are home. I've already taken at least 100!
